Facebook Page Administration? – We Got An App For That!

Page administrators of the world rejoice. Your cries have been heard.

One of the biggest frustrations for page administrators (myself included) has been facilitating engagement and content from on the road. Anyone working off of the iPhone IOS system and the the standard Facebook app knows what I am talking about.

Facebook Inc. recently released a new app directed at making the lives of page admin’s the world over, a lot easier.

The New Pages Manager App. For The iPhone (4.2 Or Later)

You Use “Post”… It Is Moderately Effective.

Keep in mind that the new app is bound to have a few bugs, however long term it should come through in a big way. If nothing else it shows that Facebook is aware of the need and has committed to addressing it.

1. What Is Pages Manager?

Pages Manager is an application for the iPhone that lets admins check on their page activity, view insights and respond to their audience.

2. How Do I Log Into The Pages Manager app?

To log in, you need to have the main Facebook app and Pages Manager installed on your mobile device. When you’ve logged into the Facebook app, open the Pages Manager app, tap the Log In button.

3. Can I Access All Of My Different Pages In The Pages Manager app?

If you manage multiple Facebook pages, you can access up to fifty of them on the Pages Manager app. Tap the menu button in the top left corner of the app. A menu will open with a list of the Pages you manage. Tap the name of the Page you manage to view it.

4. What Insights Are Available On Pages Manager And Where Can I Find Them?

In Pages Manager you can view:

  • Total Likes.
  • People talking about your page.
  • Weekly total reach.
  • Trends chart.

Access this information by visiting any of the Pages you manage on the app and then tap the Insights information below the Page title. You can also access insights for any Page you’re viewing from the left navigation by tapping on Insights

5. How Do I Know Which Page I Am Posting As?

On the Pages Manager app you will always be posting as the Page you are on. The Page you are on is listed at the top of the screen below the Write Post button. When you click on Write Post you will see the profile picture of the Page you are posting as.

6. How Do I Remove A Post From My Page?

Run a finger from left to right across any post to see a list of actions. Posts created by your Page will have a Delete option. For posts created by others, you’ll see the option to Hide or Delete the post. From this menu you will also be able to Ban people.

7. Can I Turn Off Push Notifications In The Pages Manager App?

Unfortunately, in this version of the app you cannot turn of Push Notifications. The plan is to add this option – for individual pages – in the next version.

8. Why Can I Not See My Page’s Messages In The Pages Manager App?

Currently, you cannot view messages from the Pages Manager app. This will soon be changed.
